Sara Joy in the mountains

I'm warm, honest, and quietly confident — a lover of nature, old things, and beauty in the ordinary.

I've always been drawn to helping people — it's what led me to nursing, and eventually to bodywork. But I've also been shaped by the things that restore me: hiking, solitude, slow mornings, the sound of birdsong. I'd rather walk than drive, be outdoors than in. I like physical books, actual letters, a good cup of coffee — or something a little stronger.

A solo trek across Spain a few years ago deepened all of that — 50 days of walking, silence, and learning to be fully present. It shifted something in me that I'm still finding words for. There's a longer story, if you're curious.

What stayed with me most was the pace. Moving slowly, deliberately — paying attention. It turns out that's also what makes bodywork effective: being unhurried enough to actually listen, with hands and with intention. Present. Here. Now.

The Approach

I'm a nurse and massage therapist — clinically trained, genuinely invested, and focused on work that actually makes a difference.

What I bring to every session is unhurried presence: listening hands, compassion, and a genuine commitment to working with you. My sessions aren't scripted; they're custom-built, based on what you say and what I find. No two are alike.

Along the Way

The path hasn't been exactly direct — but each season has revealed the next step.

At Home

Sessions take place in the butler's quarters of our 1800s Victorian on Marietta Ave. The interior is intentionally eclectic, with antiques, family heirlooms, and old books — and more houseplants than is probably reasonable. It's flooded with light through the grand windows, and shared with my favorite husband and our mini goldendoodle, Watson.
